Fratelli Alessandria's 1.4 hectares of this exceptional Verduno cru are positioned in a south facing amphitheatre. As with all of their Baroli, the Monvigliero is fermented with 20% whole berry fruit and aged for three years in Slavonian oak casks. Exotic spice, delicate lavender and lilac rise seductively from the glass. On the palate, wild strawberry and an underlying orange oil character marry seamlessly with long, fine tannins. Beyond the sheer finesse, there is sneaky density and persistence.
