Natural Cork

Although overshadowed by the succulent 2004s, 2005 was nonetheless a fine vintage. The nose is surprisingly dense, even closed, and while the richness is evident on the palate the tannins still dominate, even after a decade. It lacks some finesse and shows a slight earthiness and rusticity that's far from unpleasant but demands some red meat to absorb it. It's still youthful, a bit grippy and very long.
