From a sandy site, this wine is aged both in barriques and large casks. There's plenty of cherry and raspberry fruit on the nose here, and it's perhaps a touch confected now. It has a fresh attack and no lack of tannin, and there are sweet red fruits on the mid-palate that give the wine immediate charm. It's succulent rather than complex, and quite long.
