Based on 95% of Nebbiolo and 5% of Vespolina, this Lessona ages longer than usual - for 46 months in large oak. The wine is bright garnet in the glass, dominated by a cinnamon aroma melded with pomegranate and cherry. The peppery character of Vespolina here is very polite but it's on the palate that the wine shines for its supple character, with silky tannins, lifted acidity and vibrant red fruit allied to a peach skin flavor. A typically savoury Lessona, with a refined yet dry finish. Elegant rather than powerful.
