From the dizzying hills of Santo Stefano Belbo, the heart of the Piemontese sparkling wine epic, come the Pinot Noir grapes used in the intriguing Alta Langa of Paolo Berutti, former winemaker for a large Canelli company and now a small independent vigneron. The complexity of his wine is due to obsessive care in the soft pressing of the grapes, the precise elaboration of the sparkling wine base, and the patient work of refining it on the lees. This Brut has aromas of berries, acacia honey and dried fruit, a voluminous and bitter taste, a biting acidity, and a persistent finish.
