The project of Tenuta Guardasole starts to come together: young producers with the passion for their terroir, despite the difficulties growing vines here. The estate is organic, an uphill battle against the pressure of the weather in Alto Piemonte. This 2018 opens up with intoxicating black pepper and pomegranate aromas enhanced by the vibrancy of blood orange, sweet violet and a smoky depth. Silky, light and supple on the palate, there's the toasty whiff of oak ageing. Very refined, precise and balanced; a wine you wouldn't want to spit out at a tasting. The finish is refined, with a sweet violet flourish.
