Rosé

Italy

The red grape found in the Castel del Monte DOCG in the north of Puglia makes for a delightful rosé, with summer pudding fruit and a dry, crisp palate. There's a more positive red-fruit flavour here than most pale, neutral rosés, which makes it ideal with light pasta dishes, tomato salads, and even dishes with a little spice. Nero di Troia is worth seeking out in red versions, too, where it makes a more structured and less alcoholic Puglian red than either Primitivo or Negroamaro.
