It's not often that one finds complexity and balance in an affordably priced, traditional-method brut, but Murgo delivers. In doing so, we see that Nerello Mascalese is a versatile grape that successfully lends itself to bubbles. This wine opens with a hint of matchstick on the nose, which quickly transforms to grilled peach and apricot with a touch of cream. The bubbles are nicely structured, and there's good acidity. Coming across as dry on the palate, this is an excellent aperitif; pair it with prosciutto e melone and you are off to a great evening.
