This single-parcel wine from the Contrada Santa Spirito in Passopisciaro is from lower-yielding vines than the estate's Nero di Sei, matured for 24 months in French oak eggs. Consequently it's darker and earthier in tone, with some black cherry, raspberry and barrel spice scents. Intense, fresh and vibrant, the darker fruit profile combined with chocolatey barrel notes makes for a muscular style, although it lacks some concentration and has a dry finish.
