Described as a fabulous vintage with perfect weather and no difficulties, many producers achieved a 20% larger harvest, with grapes exhibiting a balanced ripening of sugar, acidity, and tannins. ‘We harvested in the morning and went swimming in the afternoon,’ recalls De Grazia. This is a classy wine with graceful aromas of ripe lemon, peach, toasted hazelnuts and Mediterranean scrub. It is lean, with all elements integrated beautifully, and is still energetic. Juicy acidity leans on firm shoulders, and intense flavours play on both fruity, nutty tones and salty minerality. It has an elegant and long finish.
