This is a balanced vintage that combines structure and elegance, and for many producers on Etna, 2011 was a wonderful year, with close-to-perfect phenolic ripening combined with balanced sugar levels. From the aromas, you can already feel the multi-layered character of this wine, combining surprisingly well-defined fruit flavours of red berries and apricot together with bitter almond, lime zest, mint and umami notes. It has a rich mouthfeel with generous fruity and nutty tones, and a smoky pomegranate acidity spilling out of the glass. It has aged beautifully and is both rigorous and playful at the same time.
