This project has its roots in 1985 when Luciano Squilloni, whose grandfather was a sharecropper, began to acquire small parcels of land in the Florentine hills near San Gimignano. Thirty years later in 2015, after a career in textiles, he fully returned to the land with the intention of making wine. The fruit has been organically certified since 2021, and this wine is a blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Cabernet Franc and 10% Petit Verdot. Jason Millar: Super-glossy nose, glowing black fruit and a double-cream richness with a ton of sweetly perfumed fruit. Ideal for a big glass at a barbecue. Decadent perfume on the finish is almost Pinot-ish with its stemmy, spicy herbals. Melania Battiston: Plenty of vigorous green peppercorn and blackcurrant leaf: the Cabernet Franc is quite prominent here. Generous and ambitious style, glossy and delicious. Victoria Daskal: Lovely depth of ripe fruit, earthy tones, smooth with purity and intensity. Excellent lasting impression.
