With vineyards once belonging to the neighbouring Castello di Ama, the Bertinga estate was established by the owners of a leading Russian import company. Winemaking is overseen by French wine consultant Stéphane Derenoncourt. From first whiff, the 2023 is absolutely appetising. Red cherry and raspberry are interspersed with grilled bay leaf and thyme. Mouthfilling and glossy, this is loaded with succulent summer fruit. Juicy acidity carries it through to the earth-tinged finish where powdery tannins dissolve graciously.
