This Colore, at just 13% abv – a whole percent less than the 2022 – speaks clearly of the delicate 2024 vintage and the cool vineyard sites, up high and north-facing. As usual, it's darker in fruit than Testamatta due to those old vines, but lighter in concentration than typical vintages of Colore. A dark cherry core and violet flourishes are surrounded by subtle Mediterranean herbs and a hint of salinity. Minor touches of cocoa and damp earth lend depth, while the long finish is outlined by wild strawberry and a gentle squeeze of blood orange. Refined in texture, slim and vertical in shape. Very 2024.
