From the estate's best plots of south-east facing vines at 250m, this wine is vinified using indigenous yeasts in open-top oak vats, before maturing for 12 months in new French oak barriques, a further three to six months in cement, and up to 24 months in bottle. Ripe, rich dark berries with hints of chocolate, earth, balsam and spice fill the nostrils. Intense and spicy, and quite rustic, the tannins give support to the ripe but fading fruits, with good acidity and a long, very spicy finish.
