High up in Radda-in-Chianti, Cantina Castelvecchi Madonnino vineyard boasts the estate's oldest vines, averaging almost 70 years of age. The grapes are given a long maceration of 40 days then matured in wood for two years. 

The wine expresses darker tones of blackberry fruit accompanied by balsamic herbs, bay laurel and wood spice. The tannins are slightly rustic but this wine has character and lots to chew on.
