Davide Bottai is the new generation heading up this up-and-coming estate. For the annata, he blends plots from high-altitude vineyards in Lucolena and Lamole, which sit on opposite sides of Chianti Classico’s imposing Monte San Michele. It bounces out of the glass with iris, blackberry and pepper. Spice notes repeat on the delightfully youthful palate – as do those purple fruit tones. Modest grapey tannins give a frisky tug. Energetic, agile and direct, this is breezy and just so deliciously drinkable.
