Its inaugural release, Lama dei Cortacci is crafted from vines nestled above the hamlet of Lamole at 700m – at the absolute upper limits of Chianti Classico production. Don't expect a dense, concentrated Riserva; instead, this sings its high-altitude origins in a lovely, lifted, light pitch. Fresh and lively scents of pepper, cardamom and nutmeg lead into earthy nuances of iris root and brushwood. The mid-weight palate is awash with crisp red plum and pomegranate. Tannins are fine and finessed. Pleasantly puckering acidity carries the zesty finish.
