The estate’s top Chianti Classico bottling comes from a single southwest-facing hilltop vineyard reaching 400m, planted in the mid-1980s. Barrique-aged, it is profuse in personality. A heady assortment of leather, mint, espresso and sunbaked stone leads into the red-fruited palate. Soft plump berries are perfumed with dark purple flowers. It's rich and compact with dry, clinging tannins corseting. Zesty acidity heightens the blood orange finish. Ready to dole out its pleasures over the next eight or so years.
