Bottled as a Riserva prior to the creation of the Gran Selezione category. And while today Vigna del Sorbo is 100% Sangiovese, 20 years ago it included 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. The soft caressing texture and layers of dark baked fruit are lifted by a sappy undertow. Evocative scents and flavours of liquorice, Mediterranean shrub, damp soil and incense persist through the finish. This has held up well and has a handful of years left.
