Chianti Classico

This steep, north-facing vineyard surrounded by forest reaches up to 550m, making it one of the highest in Chianti Classico – and the estate's last to ripen. Located in Radda in Chianti near the border with Castellina in Chianti, the soils are predominantly galestro and alberese limestones. The 2020 vintage benefited from more water in the soils compared to 2021 and 2022, so despite the heat the result is a fresher style. Angela has translated the cool, altitudinous character of the site by vinifying in concrete and using long submerged-cap maceration, then ageing in large barrels for 12 months. Delightful floral and cherry scents are accompanied by fleshy, sapid red and black fruits, with a lovely line of raspberry acidity and a creamy, woody frame. Really vertical and poised, it ends with a long, gourmand finish which leaves you wanting more.
