Poggio al Sole is owned by the Davaz family, who have been making wine in Switzerland since 1972. Their 24ha Chianti Classico estate is in the western commune of Barberino Tavarnelle. A single-vineyard selection, the Casasilia ages in French barriques, of which 25% is new. 

With dried flower, allspice and tea scents, this is already showing some developing aromas. The profile is fresher on the palate, where cherry is bolstered by firm tannins. Just a bit lacklustre.
