Vineyards here reach a cool 700 metres above sea level and are planted largely to Bordeaux varieties. The estate's flagship wine also sees a healthy dose of Rebo, a curious crossing of Merlot and Teroldego, which ages in amphorae to preserve the grape's exuberant freshness. Aromas are initially leafy and balsamic with bay laurel and eucalyptus making way for mocha, red plum and black currants. Quite compact, this is judiciously oaked, sophisticated and well-mannered.
