Gran Selezione

This Gran Selezione comes from Rignana's south facing La Cantinetta vineyard which sits at 350 metres above sea level on limestone clay rich in shale. It is made exclusively with Sangiovese and aged in a combination of large casks and small barrels. Developing aromas of tobacco, leather and smoky black pervade on the nose. Fresher notes of dark currant appear on the palate which is robust, dense and tight. Nevertheless, it is ready to drink now and over the next few years, especially with grilled meat.
