Milanese financier Alberto Tanzini bought this estate on one of the highest sites at Scansano in 2003 and replanted it with primarily Sangiovese, conceived from the outset as the focus of the production. Ribeo was the first release of the estate's three Morellino wines. From a classic Sangiovese/Alicante blend fermented in stainless steel and aged in cement vats, the nose is all sour plum, iris and juniper, with a touch of smokiness. The palate has staunch tannic-acid consistency and a firm, dried herb finish.
