This Tuscan estate, owned by Sting and Trudie Styler, has 25ha of vines in San Casciano Val di Pesa producing grapes mostly destined for their various bottlings of Chianti Classico. This first vintage of the wax-capsuled Dieci, labelled as a Toscana Rosso, is 100% Sangiovese fermented in stainless steel under the guidance of Trudie and consultant oenologist Paolo Caciorgna, before being matured for 15 months in old oak. It has a black cherry, red fruit, wild herb and menthol aroma, leading to a palate of warming alcohol and a vein of acid. Subtle chalky tannins support the smooth, chocolatey red fruit flavours, with some wood on the finish. It's fairly rich and round, but finishes a touch short. 2,000 bottles produced, all sold-out this year.
