Thirty-seventh generation Conte Sebastiano Capponi took over his family's estate in 1992. He converted it to organic farming soon afterward, and vinifies each plot separately. Planted in 1975, Vigna La Fornace is a 1ha vineyard with a southern exposure on sandy soil. While this has similar richness to the Vigna Contessa Luisa, wood notes are more apparent here and the tannins are slightly coarse. Nevertheless, there are pleasant nuances of sweet earth, cedar and coffee.
