Colli Berici

Sourced from south-facing vineyards on soils with a high limestone content, aged for 12 months in cement and stainless steel. Notes of dark fruits and a waft of dried herbs are followed in the mouth by fruit which is quite concentrated. It's an almost syrupy amalgam of herb-tinged strawberry, raspberry, black cherry and blackcurrant, with a slightly medicinal finish joined by a sprinkle of peppery spice. The acidity is key to keeping this light on its feet and it does a good job. Drink this with a roast sirloin of beef served rare with all the trimmings.
