Opaque dark purple core with a ruby-pink rim. A complex bouquet of fresh plums and boysenberries and toasty spices barrel oak spice. Oak scents are quite strong, showing a mix of vanilla and bacon then a lifted spice note adding complexity and intrigue. An enticing almost sweet palate, but also quite earthy showing primary and bottle development complexities. Salivating, weighty, textured and complex – the tannins and oak flavours touch the palate first then a core of dark plums and baked blackberry emerge before the bacon and vanilla barrel notes chime in. A lengthy, slightly dry finish is still very satisfying. Blend also contains 5% Petit Verdot.
