Tangy, fresh and alive, with pear, citrus zest, apricots, apple skin, camomile and fresh herbs, a seltzer-like minerality and savoury, faintly lanolin note. Very layered on nose and palate. Silky textured with good fruit concentration, lots of mango, savoury apple and Beurré Bosc pear, the acidity drives the palate structure as expected, but it’s nicely diffuse rather than sharp-edged. Lovely mouthfeel, with a light pithiness on the finish, good carry. Half-a-hectare planted on the Home Vineyard in 2011 on clay. Vineyard-derived yeasts, whole bunch (old) barrel-fermentation, no added sulphites. Organic.
