Notes of moist spruce and fir forest floor still ring with a lovely, distant but distinct nose of Amarena cherry on this now six-year-old Pinot Noir. More air on the nose reveals a subtle floral notion of dark rose potpourri. With grapes chiefly from Bannockburn, the palate shows the smooth, dense and fine tannins of the deep clay soils, now beginning to resolve. A dark-fruited character and some tingling clove spice lend a mellow dimension, countered by fine freshness. Evolving, smooth and rounded, this is at a beautiful stage of development now.
