Powerful aroma, with the three varieties stamping their mark: plums then olives, blackberries then violets. The aromas of soil and place are strong, but perhaps hidden by the youthful, quivering energy the wine currently reveals. There's a delicious core of dark berries and plums on the focussed, complex palate, plus plenty of milk chocolate, smoky oak and soil notes, dried herbs, violets, sweet tea and anise. Firm tannins, a youthful acid line and a lengthy finish – think about drinking from 2033.
