Perfumed, with cedar, spice and lots of graphite, this is a ripe-fruited yet quite understated and savoury style. Attractive aromatics – ripe plum, cassis, violets, sandalwood and iodine – lead to a polished but characterful palate with lovely silky, well-structured tannins and good mouthfeel. An elegant wine, concentrated and complex with a dense core of ripe fruit, this will unfold beautifully with patience (if you can’t wait, do decant it first). A blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc and 15% Merlot, 12 months in French oak, 60% new.
