Waihopai Valley producer Spy Valley is celebrating 30 years of vines and 20 years of its label with this wine. A blend of 52% Pinot Noir and 48% Chardonnay, with nearly two years on lees, it displays a rather forward and pleasingly creamy autolytic nose, a fine, open-knit bead, and a biscuitty, honeyed palate with lovely strawberry and lemon highlights. Plenty of fruit without being fruity.
