A wonderfully layered, savoury wine in a rich, polished style showing a touch of oak at first – though well handled. Aromas of dark, spicy fruit meld with floral notes of violets and roses, and smoky dried herbs. The palate is supple and silky, with fine, slightly sinewy tannins and again a touch of glossy oak, though there’s plenty of fruit concentration to support both. A long, dry, minerally finish. Still very youthful.
