Wines from the Waitaki Valley can't help but reflect their origin, with a deep core of minerality from the dramatic, dry landscape of schistic and limestone. This can bring edginess as well as a mix of fragrant, seductive, floral stone fruit scents, as is the case here, with its taut and youthful core, ripe fruit flavours of fresh lemon, red apple and apricot stone. There's a firm squeeze from the acid line broken by the core of fruit and a mineral touch. A fine lees complexity adds to the mouthfeel and lengthy finish.
