Teresa Caeiro continues the proud tradition of her grandfather, the famed ‘professor’ of Vila de Frades. Fermented in the time-honoured manner, with stems and skins in the large clay pots known as talha in Portugal. Harvested slightly early, resulting in a delicious, fresh lift. The tannins are subtly nutty and the palate has a spiced apple note. After four months in the talha, the wine is bottled unfiltered. The end result has authenticity and rustic charm, but is executed at a high level.
