This third release (bottled 2017) is a blend of 2005, 2006 and 2009, with 18% field blend grapes. Lengthy barrel-ageing without temperature control produces a hugely layered, yellow/gold wine with plenty of girth and perfumed oaky complexity (toasted coconut, smoke and sweet spices) to its baked quince and sultana-stuffed apples, salted lime, lemon peel, lanolin and quinine palate. Intoxicating stuff.
