Ideally this would have been harvested at the end of August to retain some freshness, but not in 2016 when very hot, dry weather slowed ripening. 

Still, it reveals fresh, juicy blood plum notes with riper blue fruit nuances on a relatively open-knit palate, with an earthy, mineral undertow and crushed coriander seed spice. A cool, tapering, slightly reduced finish suggests it will flesh out with air or time. This un-pushed, midweight Syrah was aged in 20% new French oak.
