Noval justifiably declared every year from 2011 to 2020, such was the last decade in the Douro, but this 2012 is relatively forward. Still looking youthful and opaque, it's open on the nose with liquorice-like depth and richness, freshness and purity of fruit underlying. Already beautifully integrated with supple, plummy fruit and dark chocolate at its core, leading to a powerful finish.
