From grapes grown at 100m in the hot Douro Valley, this fruit-forward style has plenty of freshness. A nice intensity of aromatics: black berry and cherry fruit with a pot pourri edge. Well made, with considered oaking (18 months in second- and third-use French oak), fresh acidity and smooth, well-integrated tannins. The ripe black fruit palate ends in a lingering spicy finish.
