Despite the shadow of the widely declared 1994s, this was a well-received release from a year dominated by a searingly hot August, bringing harvest dates forward. Nearly three decades on, it merits time in the glass to allow the full panoply of flavours to reveal themselves: stewed blue fruit, sweeter red fruit with lots of spice and still a remarkably perfumed, ethereal character for all its power and concentration.
