Touriga Franca and Touriga Nacional with 5% each of Tinto Cão and Sousão grown at Sandeman’s quintas Seixo and Vau. Colour so deep as to be almost opaque; dense and brooding on the nose, big, ripe and well defined on the palate, with lovely freshness to offset the ripe plum and black cherry fruit. Finishes with a flourish. Bottled after minimal intervention. Winemaker Luis Sottomayor states that this will age in bottle for ‘several decades after bottling’. Serious LBV.
