He buys Majestic's LB7 Portuguese red by the case – this is cheaper, and offers a mouthful of sweet (5g/L residual sugar), ripe black cherry and plum fruit. It's light in alcohol – especially for a Portuguese red – and slips down easily, well balanced and with plenty of commercial appeal.
