The honour of having been the first Cap Classique producer in the Hemel-en Aarde Valley goes to Domaine des Dieux. The golden colour suggests evolution on this 72-month lees-aged and Chardonnay-dominated wine, but the nose is fresh and youthful with its hints of oatmeal, lemon and ozone. The palate is superbly fresh, wonderfully sleek with refined, delicate mousse and lovely oyster shell depth. The finish is truly lipsmacking and just calls for seafood.
