On the northern slopes of Paarl mountain, Windmeul Kelder was established in 1944. Today the cellar draws from a host of well-tended vineyards, which enables the production of a range of exceptional wines. The Reserve Pinotage is one of the flagship wines, grown on bush vines on the farm and matured in 100% new French oak barrels. Greg Sherwood MW: An alluring nose of brûléed blackberry fruits, mocha and stewed red plums. The palate shows real poise and precision, weightless concentration, sweet blue and black berry fruits, and a long, fine-grained tannin finish. Opulent. Roger Jones: Delicate aromatics and rosebuds, dark blue fruits and plummy damsons on the palate. Fresh and racy, this is evolving beautifully. Victoria Mason: Inviting chocolatey aromas, then super-concentrated black fruit on the palate along with pleasingly grippy tannins and acidity. Has a lovely velvety texture, with blueberry and blackberry and a mineral edge.
