Long known for sourcing distinctive vineyards for his roving Fram label, Thinus Krüger has now put down roots in the Piket-Bo-Berg, with the first harvest from his own vineyards expected in 2026. Fram will continue in parallel, both labels reflecting Krüger’s minimalist, site-specific style. The Stagmanskop is sourced from an old Piekenierskloof vineyard, planted in 1987 on weathered sandstone. Wild ferment in old barrels lasted six months, with 11 months maturation, and imbues a delectable chalkiness to ripe orange citrus, kumquat and persimmon, sewn to the finish with a liquid silver acidity.
