This is the first commercially released 100% Pinot Meunier Cap Classique in South Africa, made with fruit from Robertson (70%) and cooler Elgin (30%). Sparkling specialist 'Mr Bubbles' Pieter Ferreira used a mix of vessels for primary fermentation: terracotta amphora, ceramic pots, neutral French oak and stainless steel, with extended lees ageing. Pretty floral top notes dance beside delicate hints of fresh raspberry on the nose. The palate is a perfect blend of creamy and mineral, with crisp notes of red apple and grapefruit alongside fluffy brioche rolls and a touch of nuttiness. An impressive debut.
