Sourced from select plots of near-50-year-old Chenin vines on decomposed granite on the estate, the grapes are fermented with wild yeasts in French oak barrels, 40% new. The wine is then matured in barrel on its lees for 10 months before spending a further six months in concrete egg before bottling. 

The result is a very rich, intense wine with a hint of smokiness on the nose and zesty flavours of apple, pear and stone fruits. It has a touch of honey on the mid-palate and some mineral streaks throughout.
