This wine, specially made for the Cape Winemakers Guild auction, is a blend of three varieties, all fermented in 300-litre open top oak vats and matured for 18 months separately, before blending and bottling. Cedary black fruits and green pepper aromas lead into a gorgeously textured palate with fine, grippy tannins framing savoury flavours of dark fruit, damp earth, black pepper and wood. It's deliciously balanced, with a distinct, pure cassis character on the long finish. 60 cases available at the auction out of a total production of 200 cases.
